  • Industrial Production: 5040 as a professional rust prevention for metal workpieces and metal processing parts, can be widely used in the manufacturing and maintenance of steel parts, metal processing parts, castings, forgings, cylinder liners, crankshafts, bearings, water pump machinery, etc., for rust prevention during processes, for semi-finished and finished products.

  • Electroplating and Phosphating: 5040 can be used for passivation and rust prevention treatment of electroplated and phosphated parts, enhancing the corrosion resistance of electroplated layers and phosphating films.


  • Preparation: Before using, shake the barrel several times and pour out the original liquid. For the rust prevention working liquid, it can be used directly as the original liquid for soaking. The soaking time is 2 - 10 minutes (usually 2 - 3 minutes is sufficient). The temperature can be from normal temperature to 50°C (usually normal temperature is fine, but for faster drying of the rust-proofed workpiece, it can be heated to 40 - 50°C).

  • Surface Preparation: Before rust prevention treatment, ensure the workpiece surface is free from oil contaminants, rust, and granular attachments. The higher the surface finish, the better the rust prevention effect. If acidic water is used for rust removal, rinse the workpiece with flowing water at least twice to make the surface neutral.

  • Treatment Method: For large and complex workpieces, if using spraying or brushing, ensure the liquid fully wets all corners of the workpiece. After treatment with the rust prevention liquid, it is recommended to use a spray gun with compressed air to blow off the residual water on the surface and in all corners, then dry it. If possible, it is better to dry it in an oven. The dried workpiece should be placed on a dry packing box or a ground with a wooden board as the base.

  • Maintenance: The rust prevention working liquid usually does not reduce in concentration but decreases in quantity. Add the original liquid and clean water according to the proportion. If the rust prevention agent is contaminated by tap water or cleaner residues and cannot effectively prevent rust, a new tank needs to be opened. It is recommended to open a new tank at about the same time as the cleaner tank.
